The problem
When a pet gets sick or injured and the bill is $3,000, most families don't have options. They can go into debt, or they can give up their pet.
Pet Aid Manitoba exists to give families a third option — financial aid paid directly to the clinic, so care can happen and the pet goes home.
Programs
Financial aid for Manitoba pet owners facing vet bills they can't afford. We cover 50% of the cost — up to $5,000 per case — paid directly to the clinic.
Accessible spay and neuter services through partner clinics across Winnipeg, for families who can't afford standard pricing.
We're building clinic partnerships now. Join our mailing list to be notified when this program launches.

How it works
Two tracks depending on urgency. Both are straightforward — we keep the process as simple as possible.
Submit the form, flag it as an emergency
Takes about 5 minutes. Mark the emergency field so we triage you immediately.
Quick hardship check
One document — proof of assistance, a recent bank statement, or a short written explanation.
Clinic confirms the cost estimate
We contact your vet directly to confirm the diagnosis and treatment cost.
Approval and payment — target 2–4 hours
We pay the clinic directly. You pay your 50%. Your pet gets treated.
Submit the form
Same form as the emergency track. Takes about 5 minutes.
Full hardship review
We review your documentation and financial situation with care, not judgment.
Clinic confirms the cost estimate
We contact your vet directly to confirm the diagnosis and treatment cost.
Decision within 2–3 business days
Approvals and denials both come with a clear reason. You can appeal any denial.
Monthly giving
Monthly donors are the backbone of what we do. Your recurring gift means we can say yes to the next family who calls in a panic about their dog's emergency surgery.

About us
Aid is paid directly to the veterinary clinic — never to the pet owner. This protects donors and ensures funds reach treatment.
Pet Aid Manitoba is governed by an unpaid volunteer board of directors. No director receives compensation. Board members are listed publicly.
We publish annual financial statements and CRA T3010 returns. Once registered as a charity, all filings will be publicly available here.
